I have stayed away from zoom lenses since the mid 1980's, preferring faster primes. But I gotta say, the high-ISO performance of today's cameras is just changing the way I see these things. Here is a snapshot taken in a restaurant, at mid-day -- the subjects are lit from picture windows at the front of the place about 15 feet away. ISO 800 - no grain reduction. PP in Lightroom with just a bit of a bump in exposure to make sure that the resulting histogram touched the right edge of the graph.

The Nex 5n is an amazing camera. Coupled wirh the 35 2.5CV or 21 4, I'm not sure what else you'd need for indoor work, given ISO 3200 IQ is exceptional.

My even-more-lowly Nex3's are still going strong. Everything I need for the present, and still a tremendous bargain.

+1 - I've got a Nex 7 on pre-order, but that's mainly for 35mm and longer lenses with the EVF, it's going to compliment my NEX 3, not replace it. The NEX 3 with any wide (I use the CV 15mm and 25mm mostly) is one of the greatest hip-shooters I've ever used. If it had the ability to turn off the LCD to save battery, I think it would be perfect.
