I'm thinking I don't need a firmware update, and Sony aren't updaters like companies such as Fuji are anyway. I've fixed the video button problem so right now I don't have any issues.

There are things I'd still like to see - a better menu structure, user presets, in EVF distance and DOF scales - but I'm in the same boat as Peter. Now that I put a Guard on my #%$&# video button I can get by.

FWIW, my A100, A700, A900 and NEX-5 all went through numerous firmware updates that not only fixed bugs, but added features. I'm actually a little surprised that Sony hasn't released a single NEX-7 firmware update.

The lack of updates is odd, but to be honest, I don't see a lot on my NEX 7 that needs to be fixed... The menu structure is tricky to find stuff in, but I got used to it and its not a bug deal. I've never once accidentally hit the video button, so I've never understood the fuss over that.
One feature I would like is a mono viewfinder mode, so the focus peaking stands out more, I know I can get this by shoot b&w JPEGs and still get colour raws, but sometimes want color JPEGs too, sure I can convert, but it's a hassle.
