As I continue my search for a good 3.5cm nikkor:
I have a beat up 3.5cm 2.5 ltm lens that I purchased, puts a good image but has some mechanical issues:
Focus is stiff, glass has some fungus. Anyone have instructions on how to disassemble this lens for cleaning and helical lubrication? I have short money in this lens be good to learn on and get it fixed up.
I have another 3,5cm 2.5 lens that has focus issues, everything I focus on is out of focus in the image. I have got to think this is a lens cell adjustment or something, lens is in real nice condition. I have tried a number of the 3.5cm lenses and they are a real nice optic so I dont know why this would be different...
Thanks, Steve

He is within 30 miles of me but told me that he does not work on them. Said to call DAG.

DAG is maybe the best, when Don has time. Call him up.

It's not a good idea to send lenses to YY, because he doesn't (or anyway last year didn't) have a collimator. He can screw it all back together again, but can't tell whether or not it's adjusted to the correct plane of focus. That's CL, but not CLA.

Totally agree with this. I made that mistake a couple of times. All of my stuff goes through Don now.

Try Sherry Krauter at Golden Touch. I used her for a few different lenses. Including a
3.5cm Nikkor.

P.S. Today is Sherry's birthday!!

John Van Stelton at Focal Point in Colorado is excellent for this kind of work. He has serviced three of my lenses and would be my first choice. The Nikkor 35 2.5 can be a wonderful lens or at least mine is. John did a 50 2.0 Nikkor in LTM for me so I bet he could do the 35 also. Good Luck. Joe.

That would explain why Youxin told me to contact DAG.

Ask the lens, it will be the most honest answer you can get.

So far it sings…Ask the lens, it will be the most honest answer you can get.
…though I do little critical focus.
