I have read several places on the web that the coating or lens element in a Nikon Nikkor-UD 20mm f/3.5 lens is slightly radioactive. So my curiosity was peaked and I took my CDV-700 Geiger Counter and checked the lens for radioactivity.
From my measurements I can detect no radioactivity at levels any higher than normal background levels. If there is anything radioactive in this lens there is so little that the signal is drowned out by the normal background radiation.
