I've never seen a photo of this lens, and this is as close as I'll get with the price tag it carries. (I'm not so sure I could use this thing at f1.5.) No affiliation, etc. The photo is worth a look.

Shouldn't it be sharper?
My favorite part of the item's description:
"This is very rear lens"
Perhaps a comment on the optical performance or condition?

This one seems to have severe marks on the front element, in addition to oil on the blades.
KEH has a BGN one at $819 and an EXC one at 1799, currently.
Valdemar in his various incarnations used to show photos taken with this lens, didn't seem bad at all.

I had one in LTM and it was the best of the Summarex/Canon/Nikon 85's. Which means that in the 50's it was a really good, fast short tele. Today it is mediocre (as are the other two). A $300-350 85f3.5 VC or a 85f2 (use faster film) beats it handily - and for the money you can get a Summilux 75f1.4.
It was also heavy - really heavy, though I think the Canon 85f1.5 was even more of a "lump".
It is more of a collectible than a practical user now.

Well, I have a "lumpy" Canon 85mm 1.5, and I find it also to be more a collector's lens than a practical lens, but it is really OK for portraits.
NIKON KIU
Did you say Nippon Kogaku
Look at this beauty(Beast):
I bet this old Nikkor wore out a few Leicas it was mounted on, definitly more than one.

The LTM copies seem very easy to find. I've seen them all over. I want a s-mount version for $1500 or less to keep my 5cm f/1.1 company.

Does anyone have shots taken with this lens?

There are about 3 online. Two on Nikon's 1001 nights and one on flickr is about all I could find. People got grumpy when I asked for more.

Guess they didn't want to carry that log around. Tom has 3 up in the m mount group. I would have been interested in an f1.5 shot.

These are both from Nikon @ f/1.5 http://imaging.nikon.com/products/imaging/technology/nikkor/n19_e.htm:
To me it looks as good as the 75 'Lux and this is the only 85mm RF lens I'm interested in.

I have several 5cm f/1.1 images on my flickr and since I just got it back from being repaired I'll be shooting with it a lot more. I'll post some here after I get my film developed.

To me it looks very different from a 75mm summilux.

I'm not saying that it looks like the 75 lux, but that it looks to me as sharp as the 75 lux in the few shots I've seen.

Yes. Used once. Properly at F1.5.
