Not an RF, obviously, but this forum has always been so helpful I was wondering if someone had any info on availability of the Nikon D850. Anyone ordered one lately? How long did you wait? None of the big outlets for photo equipment has had them in stock, really, since they were announced ages ago. Need it for a particular project. Thanks in advance.

It's still difficult to find in the US, but apparently much more readily available in Canada; e.g., Broadway Camera, Vistek, etc... As always, you may want to call before ordering to make sure they have it in stock.

When I place the order there is a message that they will call you when they have it available. Boom, 1 week later!
What was even better was that they then asked did I want free 2 day delivery or standard delivery and an extra OEM Nikon battery. I opted for the battery.
It seems if you want one you have to avoid the big, well known shops.

Yup because the knee jerk reaction is to order from B&H because all the bloggers link to shops like that, because they are paid to do so. Which results in them having massive waiting lists for limited stock.
They don't want you to know that other shops exist. I was so happy to get mine in a week (I ordered it at the end of December) with a free spare battery.

Agreed! I called Roberts Camera two weeks ago on a Friday and got on the waiting list. The following Tuesday, I receive an email stating that they had a d850 for me if I still wanted it and to call that day to finalize my order. I did and had the d850 in my hands two days later -- only six days after getting on the waiting list. I have ordered from Roberts many times before and have always been happy.
