Hi,
just one quick question regarding which I have so far found only contradictionary information. Does one need an adapter for the Nikon DG-2 eyepiece magnifier with the R-D1? The adapter is mentioned on the Richie Cutler site but someone on this forum wrote that it does not need one.
Thanks!

Anyone?
And another question: does anyone know any proven well-made soft release buttons for the R-D1?
Thanks.

Sorry, I should have responded earlier...I bought my dg-2 new and the threaded ring comes in two pieces which screw together to hold the bracket. When you get one, make sure you have the complete assembly.
I remember when I bought it, I tried to screw the bracket on with just the smaller-threaded part, and was like wtf!!!
Then I saw the other part in the box, and was like ahhhhh!
Btw, don't be afraid to use the bigger soft releases in lieu of a mini. I use a bigger dished one, and can still see my shutter speeds/change iso even with my big gauntlet gloves in 20º weather.

Thanks for the Tom Abrahamsson tip, looks good.
And thank you Steve M for your information. I'm thinking ordering one through the ebay.co.uk called Genuine Nikon DG-2 eyepiece magnifier from a seller called fujisunrise. Will have to hope that it contains the other part too.
I'm excited to see how it will help in consistensy while focusing the jupiter-9 at larger apertures.
Thank you.
