Which one and why?

In my experience the prism on the regular F3/F3HP is pretty fragile.
Both special model sort this out with a prism cover made in Titanium.
Given that, which one would be the better one in terms of relilability/functionality?

some of the functions of the P are nice (hot shoe, AE from frame 1), and the small bits removed (multiple exposure, self timer) are unimportant to me (and maybe less thigs to go wrong)
OTOH, maybe the Hot shoe is something that can be broken and very complicated to repair (special part)?

Thanks!

Id be weary using the shoe on the f3p - you bump the flash and you risk ripping the prism off. They later used the slide in type prism on the f4

I'd just get an already dented f3hp - it's honestly not a big deal unless you regularly bang your camera on things

Comparing the original Nikon part list between the P and the T they are internally very similar but not exact. If you need the full functionality of the F3 then get the T. If you like the feature omission and need that very last 7% of extra toughness choose the P. I've had my P since the early 90's and used it hard, its still going. The P is just a bit more 'special' and neat but the chrome T's look cool too. I wouldn't worry too much about durability between them, me personally I would choose a well used P over a mint T; the well used P most likely had regular use and servicing (although maybe not!) while a mint T probably sat on a shelf for a few decades.
