Nikon FT3 does not focus at infinity

In noticed recently with lenses of 50 or less focal length, my FT3 would not quite reach infinity focus in the split prism. When I look at the mount it seemed that the lens not quite orthoganol to the mount. However, it mounted smoothly and sure. the mount is so full of steel it seems like nothing could knock it off kilter if you hit with a hammer. IT's just not quite right. Should I just ignore ?

How I usually test infinity focus is by using a digital camera. I use a longer lens on the digital camera, focus both lenses on infinity, stick a piece of paper on the second camera and back light it with a mobile phone.

Set one on Bulb mode on one camera and take a picture with the digital. If everything is ok, the letters of the paper should appear sharp.
