Hello all, I recently bought a Nissin 360 TW flash (with the filters) for £13 inc. p+p from a charity shop on ebay. it looks "exc+" and seems to work perfectly, but I've come up with some questions that I'd like to ask:

1) I've read that the pc sync cable for it is specific to the flash and probably can't be used with any other flash. Does anyone know if this is true, and if so what is the "name"of it so that can try and find one on ebay?

2) Does anyone know if the coloured filters are for specific purposes, such as the blue one being for use with a particular type of film, and the same for the yellow filter? Would the red filter be used for warming up the flash's light for if the flash is used for fill-in during a sun-set?

3) The instructions say the 3 manual settings are full, 1/2 and 1/4, but the symbols are 2 stops apart, so does this actually mean the real settings are full, 1/4 and 1/16th?

4) The manual symbols on the power selector switch go "full", "1/2" and "1/4" from left to right, and when I fired the flash at those settings I could see differences. The automatic symbols go "Yellow", "Green" and "Red" also from left to right and from what I can tell the "yellow" gives full power" when the power switch is set to it, BUT on the distance scale the yellow line goes from less than 3.5 feet to 11 feet, with the aperture (not f no.) being the smallest hole of the 3 auto settings at any distance/film speed.

The red line goes from 5 feet to 42 feet, with the aperture (not f no.) being the biggest of the three auto settings at any distance/film speed.

I'm having trouble getting my 2 braincells around the notion that the most powerful setting is used at the shortest distances. I've just double-checked it now by firing the flash first at the red, then green then yellow settings.

Any help would be much appreciated.
