The 21 Nokton for FE was released in last June. So took them 7 months to announce the M mount version.
Since the 50/2 was announced in October, the M version should be around in another 4-5 months, if there actually is gonna be one.

Same size as the Leica, 100g lighter, and about 800,000 yen cheaper.

How long 'till we see a very nice 35mm f1.4 that is a fraction of the price of the Leica, and smaller than the Zeiss..?

The 4.6 x 5.3 cm Summilux 35/1.4 ASPH (silver) weighs 415 grams.
The 5.2 x 5.3 cm Summilux 50/1.4 ASPH (silver) weighs 460 grams.
The 5.8 x 6.1 cm Summilux 24/1.4 ASPH weighs 500 grams.
The 6.6 x 7 cm Summilux 21/1.4 ASPH weighs 580 grams.
So, it's definitely possible, with either glass or brass. Or both.
I think this Nokton has rather reasonable size/weight for its spec.
