Hello,

Does anyone know if there are any plans in the pipeline to re-release the Nokton 50/1.5 in M-mount?

Thanks, Horea

All of Voigtlanders new lenses seem to be in M mount. So if they ever did redesign it, then maybe. There really isn't much issue with using an adapter.

Are M-mount lenses better built than the screw-mount ones from CV? I had a Nokton 50 for a while, and loved its abilities, but the build quality seemed not up to par with the Zeiss and Leica lenses. The aperture ring would turn by the slightest touch, almost by itself...

Mostly yes, Horea - I find the M-mount CVs on par in built quality with newer Zeiss and Leitz lenses. Some LTM CV lenses are well built, however, like the 28/3.5.

I wish KobayashiSan would come out with a smaller true 50/1.4 with .7m min. focus. Or Zeiss for that matter.

Love your galleries, BTW.

Roland.

Roland: Thanks for your comment.

I would also LOVE a fast 50 with 0.7 minimun focusing and 'not-over-the-top" price. While optically great, mechanically the Nokton feels quite "cheap".

Maybe Kobayashi-San will surprise us all with a Nokton in M-mount, which should be in line with the recent lens reshuffle. Or maybe Zeiss with a 50/1.2. Now THAT would be some news...
