Unusual for a Peace Corps Volunteer to have such skills. I sent the link to my oldest kid yesterday but she hasn't responded yet.

Excellent. When I was a Peace Corps volunteer (in Nepal, 2002-2004), there was this one fellow, Andre, a naturalized US citizen originally from Russia, who created a body of work over those two years that was breathtaking. Also from the Boston area, he returned to Russia and had a show in Moscow. I wish he were online, his photos were fantastic.

Before he joined the PC Peter DiCampo was an intern with the VII agency and now he's a RPCV he's being mentored by a professional at VII. So they clearly perceive him as a talent.
I think there's real opportunity for documentary work/storytelling in these assignments. My kid is also a RPCV but she's in Mumbai for the summer doing research for a graduate thesis. She's not much of a photographer but she's sending back some very interesting pictures about her work and she's wring an article for a magazine about what she's doing.
Great that Lens published this series!
