Time to get into the city has been short lately, so when I had a few hours recently I jumped on an early train, took the subway to lower Manhattan, and started walking. In the five hours I had before I had to get back on the train home, I covered ten miles on foot, crossing the East River twice via two different bridges and a brief jaunt in Brooklyn, across town through the Village to the High Line, up the west side, and back across town to Grand Central. I carried my Hexar AF loaded with Tri-X.

That's the kind of walk every one should try. Some really good shots there, not stuff one sees all the time.

Thanks. NYC is a great subject, but one that's not always easy to get a new perspective on. Capturing something a little different is always in my mind when I'm in the city.

Wonderful. Once I’m done with these current two projects this is going to be my mode for a while. A good day out somewhere within a day trip distance, then a few weeks sorting through everything, then repeat. Thanks for the inspiration!

Some really nice stuff in there. The work boots.... fantastic.

I live, work and shoot photos in NYC all the time but I love seeing it through someone else’s eyes.

Real good photos here, of course a good camera and a good film but most important an excellent photographer!
A photographer with a project to develop, well done. I like the way you select your subject and the way you frame them. Not the "already seen" cliché. My preferred picture is #3 so simple and so universal! Bravo!

Wonderful Out & about in NYC !

You do Grand, be it with your Hexar AF or when your with the IIIc & elmar

Thanks for all the comments. I'm pleased that others have enjoyed seeing these photos. It's always interesting to hear how others see one's own work, especially from the other NYC photographers who are dealing with the same subject matter.

Great walk and well seen!
My favorite is #17 with all the reflections, a photo within a photo.
As an ex New Yorker and Italian is sad to see Little Italy becoming Big China Town

Thank you both. Yes, much is changing, both in Little Italy/Chinatown and elsewhere. The building on the West Side is proceeding at an astonishing pace.

I think I recognize the microwave dish enmeshed in vines from the vantage point of the Highline?

And, Doyers Street? A fantastic hand-pulled noodle shop towards the right, just past your view.

Again, these are great.
