NYT: Beyond the Digicam

Those accessory lenses make the iPhone look like one of Sony's NEX cameras. Sexy little body with a big honking lens.

Kind of ridiculous if the point is to have it in your pocket at all times.
 
OK, I'll grant that novelty lenses--at novelty prices--have at least some level of justification.

But that iPhone SLR thingy? Paying $250 for the ability to leave your DSLR body at home, along with any semblance of IQ, while you're out still lugging the tripod and super-tele lens? WTF?

One born every minute, indeed.
 
Nothing like paying $250 to shoot every lens you own at maximum aperture (Canon EF lenses) or minimum aperture (Nikon G lenses) on a tiny, tiny sensor...
