Hi all,
This aftenoon i'll meet a friend who has been given an Leica 1
(serial nr. 14.3XX) which is totally legit. He doesn't want to keep it, and he wants to sell it to me. The camera is not in a very good condition: lots of brassing, a small dent and the shutter sounds a bit squeaky....
What would be a fair price to give to this friend?
Thanks,
Maurice

Check ebay. I recently saw a very good go for over $1,000. I also saw a more user one go for something like $400. I had the same issue when a friend of mine showed me his father's camera, which was a Leica I. I chose to tell him to fix it and sell it, as I didn't want to low ball him and take advantage of his ignorance concerning Leica prices...
(You can also check McBrooms price guides. I have one in a box back at home. If I wasn't on the road I'd check it for you.)
