My M5s need red dots!
While trying to clear my thoughts, I started clearing out some shelves full of envelopes with prints and negatives from about a year and a half's worth of shots.
It was a weird experience...
Since I usually shoot slide film, I had no notion of what it is to hold a print in my hands. But, not only that, some of those weren't entirely bad, or as bad as I thought when I let them pile up. Now, I'm glad I didn't ditch them as I intended!
Lesson learned: when you get a roll of duds... don't toss them right away. They may look better with time.
I'll see to post a couple of them later in the gallery or here.
Meanwhile, Scarpia's prediction came through: a very prestigious publisher showed some interest in my book. Now... I really have to work hard!!
Therefore, I went to "that evil place with them auctions 'n stuff" and got me one of THESE!
Life isn't too bad...
Thanks for reading all the way here. I just wanted to share my past experiences with you guys!

it's sometimes good to take a look back.
and a nice pen to boot!
i had a thing for fountain pens a long time ago, not so much now.
in fact, i just took a quick look and i see that i still have 1 gold cross fountain pen and 2 black sheaffer pens.
i think i'll send them to you, better than them sitting around here unappreciated.

Fountain pens and rangefinders. There are some similarities. They're both a little out of date but nothing has come along that does what they do quite so well. I love my Rotring 700 fountain pen.

Congrats on the book deal!
Kinda funny cause I just tossed two rolls of slides a week or two ago. I thought they were all quite boring and was mad so I just threw them away. I kinda regret it now, but oh well, all the film sitting around here! It won't be missed.

The pen was a kind of impulse buy... although I had been after one for a while. A long time ago, I had one, and it was stolen. Never found another (they were discontinued) and I was resigned until one day I decided to type a search on eBay. Voilà! There it was!
Well, seems like I'm heading for a fun week! My new used Nikon glass (for my "push-here-dummy" camera) and a nice but used pen will both reach this tired typist.
And I'll go shooting again! Of course, with a pad of paper to <snicker, snicker> write down the camera settings.

Very happy for you that my prediction came through. Congratulations!!!.
Somewhere I have a few old fountain pens, I don't know where- the result of being Jewish and having been bar mitzvahed when fountain pens were the fashionable gift. Why weren't cameras fashionable???
Again congratulations and wishes for continued success.

not jfk.
during the ceremony, a young man states that 'today i am a man', but because gifts must be of silver and many gifts are pens, many joke, 'today i am a fountain pen'.
at least my buds back home did.

You stole my thunder, Joe. I think we are showing our age as younger people today know nothing of this. Maybe "today I am a mutual fund" is more appropriate.
