Picked up the M6 at lunchtime. For the last two hours I have been sitting at my desk at work, just looking at it, at it sits there next to my screen, with the VC Ultron 35 mounted. Every now and then I just reach out, pick it up, and fondle errrrrr I mean handle it, wind it on a couple of times and fire the shutter.
That's it, I've definately lost it. What was the number for Leicabaters Anonymous???
My mind is not on work, think I'll load the HP5 I have here and head out......
Now...anyone in the market for a EX+ Bessa R2 body?

Tim,
I have a confession to make. I have never owned a Leica, but I think I know how you feel. For I have owned a Zeiss Ikon Contina IIa. No, it is not a rangefinder - you have to set the distance yourself. But it feels oh, so silky smooth. The steel is machined such that you touch it and whimper quietly to yourself. Like a bank vault, the back closes. Like a Rolls-Royce, the winder operates. You trip the shutter and it is like a glass rod breaking, clean, with a snap of authority. It oozes quality. And it wasn't even the best Zeiss Ikon could make.
I dare to make this comparison because I have fondled, er, handled a superb Leica IIIf that a coworker has, and the feeling of solidity and completeness is the same to me. It is majestic.
When I first got my Contina IIa, I cleaned it up and come bedtime, I sat it on the nightstand next to me. My wife laughed and threatened to go sleep on the couch to give us time together. I think she was only half kidding.
Only one rung down on that scale is my 1962-era Canon FX slr. Not a rangefinder either, but oh my.
These cameras have authority. We dig them. Grok it. Enjoy your Leica!
Best Regards,
