I wasn't sure whether to post this here as it relates to a lens that was discussed in a previous thread as to being unsuitable for conversion for use on a Leica, but the expertise is here so here goes. The lens is a Meyer Primoplan f1.9 58mm in Exakta bayonet from the late 40s. My problem is that there is so much oil on the aperture blades that they stick and 'tent' when closed (or opened) and touch the back of the front lens group, leaving an oily mark on it. I have been able to easily remove this front lens group and clean it, and have tried using Ronsonol on cotton wool buds to carefully remove oil from the now exposed blades, but the problem has reoccured. I am not really confident enough to strip the lens down any further, so is there a better approach to getting the oil off?
