Does anyone happen to know what sort of focusing mechanism the Trip uses? Is it a rear element focus? My example shows no discernible movement of the front element forward or back when focusing, unlike some other scale focus cameras I've seen, although the element does rotate. The photos I've taken are inconclusive regarding focus as they were shot in bright light at small apertures, and any errors on the film may have been my mistakes with the scale focus, if indeed the focus is working. Also, because there is no B setting I can't verify focus from the rear of the camera with a frosted glass or wax paper. Any help would be appreciated.

Answered my own question. Front focusing element but the back-to-front focusing movement is very small so hard to discern. Any focusing problems are accountable to user error.
