I recently rented M-240 and found my Olympus VF-2 electronic finder was a lot clearer and easier to see and focus on the M than on my X-Vario. Lenses tried all with success were older CV 15, CV 25 snapshot Skopar, 35/2.5 color Skopar, and M-Rokkor 90/4.
On the XV this evf is great for composing and support for hand-holding, but not close to the clarity I found on the M for nailing manual focus. On XV with this finder I can't rely on m/f to the point that I only shoot auto-focus (or infinity-only with m/f).
I've read other comments where users are happy with the quality of m/f on XV and I feel like I'm missing something, maybe a wrong setting, or perhaps the Leica finder works a lot better on XV than the Oly? (I updated the f/w so it's not that.) Any ideas or anyone else seen this difference ? Many thanks, Mark

the EVF is seeing the results of a FF sensor on the M which would provide more detail and clarity
apart from that the MF system on the M is the best in the world IMHO and the XV, although interesting and good in its own way, is not the same
