I want to reskin/re-cover my OM2 and want to know how I could remove the self timer without having to purchase any camera specific tools.
I've tried using a pair of picks and pulling it in opposite directions, but doesn't appear to work very well.
Thanks.

You want to be very careful with this. First the outer cover unscrews opposite from normal (clockwise to undo). Second, you need to tension it correctly before undoing it. Here is a fairly good reference:

What color/texture are you going for? I always thought a deep royal blue would look really nice on an OM.

Learn from my mistake and follow the Cameraleather instructions exactly - I often confuse right and left and thus wrecked the ST on my OM-1 when I recovered the body - looks great in black lizard, though. You want to be very careful with this. The timer cover is not screwed on tight. You may not need any tools. Just put your thumb on the cover and turn RIGHT. If that doesn't do it unbend a paperclip and use the ends.
Remember: righty-loosey, lefty-tighty; repeat...

I can happily confirm the choice of royal blueWhat color/texture are you going for? I always thought a deep royal blue would look really nice on an OM.
