Olympus XA - Speck between lens elements

Hello,

my Olympus XA does have a quite large speck between the lens elements. Due to the construction of the lens I cannot blow it out with air. Is there another way to get rid of it without being a mechanic?

No. Putting the lens back together correctly requires a proprietary jig Olympus has. An authorized repair center of some kind might still have one. Sorry.

Dust is probably on 2 surfaces that face the shutter/diaphragm blades. Compressed air often blows more dust inside. A full disassembly would be required to get the lenses clean. John

I don't have XA but I managed to remove speck from behing rear element of XA2. It can be removed - kept in place by retaining ring, as far as I remember. Can't say if lens on XA has same ring...
