OM-1 fast shutter speeds too fast!

Hi guys, I have a lovely OM-1 that I enjoy but I am having problems at fast speeds, 500 and 1000 I think.
At first, the second curtain (or so I've been told, I know nothing on the stuff) was dragging behind the first one a little too much so I was getting half-black pics with other half looking close to normal... but then a tech serviced it, lubed the curtain or whatever he did, and it was fine for a roll or two but now I am getting very underexposed pics when I know I've used 1/500 or 1/1000 (maybe even 1/250 but not sure of that speed).

I turned to the tech and he said that he measured the speeds and they do seem high but he is unsure how to approach servicing.

I was curious if some of you guys know anything that would help and nudge us in the right direction?
I have already checked the cog wheel underneath the mirror/body opening that needs to have a dot aligned in center so that the 1/1000 speed is properly set - that's fine (this I've seen on youtube in a tutorial).

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Get your money back and send it to a tech who knows what he's doing. That's a normal, perhaps the most commonly needed, adjustment with older cloth shutters.
