Guys,
Took these pics with my Leica M2 and my Voigtlander 50 f2.5 and f1.5. I did this scan at Triple D, Burlington Square, Singapore for the 1 hour service.

Bad scan or something wrong with my camera and lens? The Jpeg resolution is about 700kb avg. I find the pics very grainy even though I am using ISO200 films.

Comments please guys. I am using both Fuji and Luck super200 from Chiif.

With lucky200 and Nokton f1.5.

is it a professional Lab? I'm assuming it is not... my local drug store will scan negs at about that same size and they are over sharpened and hence looks grainy as well. I think it's their default setting when they scan and although I've tried to ask them to scan at a higher res I don't think the technicians know or are allowed to change settings.

If the scans were done at a minilab, they will have had automatic adjustments done to them - something like doing auto color and auto levels in photoshop. This can accentuate the grain, especially if the image was underexposed. The automatic sharpening desn't help either...

700k is a very low res scan. I think my local labs low res scans are around 1.2 MBs. The high res scans are much higher. The low res scans, even at 1.2 MBs, aren't useful for anything other than basic online viewing.

It's supposed to be one of the recommended labs. Anyway, will try to get it printed at another place to make comparison. I do hope it's just a resolution issue n nothing something wrong with my leica.

What's the recommended way to get it online? Use my own film scanner? Epson V700?

What the others said. These are low-res scans - printing will do nothing to further illuminate the issue.

There is nothing wrong with your camera and lens.

If you really want to see what the camera and lens are capable of, take a negative to a pro lab and spend the money on a true wet print (enlarger - not scanned) or a pre-press quality scan suitable for an 24"x36" print. It will cost more but.... You'll have a hard time going back to online viewing after seeing that. Maybe.

Relax

May just do that. So, critique on the photos?
