I have an original electro 35 with the round under/over exposure lights in the viewfinder, it doesn´t have a G on the front, just yashica. It has a hard leather case. I was wondering how many of these are around because all of the Electro 35s I have seen for sale are the later g/gsn/gt/gtn etc?

The photos turn out just about perfect everytime, very sharp. I just bought a mint condition GSN because well I dont know really! it was mint and cost $20 thats the only reason I can think of!

The Yashica guy website says that -[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Verdana][FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Verdana][FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Verdana]Few examples of the round 'traffic light' indicators survive.
So I guess I need to work out which one to sell and which to keep! the mint GSN or the rarer (??) original one I have.

Heldur, mine G35 model (carved bottom plate and golden G nefore YASHICA) also has round exposure indicators and hard leather NRC.

It has somehow more solid build than GSN (it's not day and night, just noticeable when you open cameras and work on them), but I like shutter lock on GSN better than round one on early models.

As for rarity - I think gold plated are rare; rest is users and price depends on interest of parties.

I think most of the folks on this forum would ask why don't you keep both? I would primarily use the GSN and save the G for special occasions.

Hi, I have too many cameras and I will be in trouble :)!

By the way the original I have from 1966 was without G, just Electro 35 - the G was the "Grade up" model that came out later in 1968,

Asa

Asa

Whats the asa range?
I have 2 Electro`s and 1 Early professional.
The 25-1000 asa Electro has traffic lights as does the Professional. (10-400)
The 10-400 asa Electro seems to have given up the ghost at the moment.
But as it is presumably earlier, i bet it has traffic lights too!

The asa range is 10-400. It has round red and yellow lights in the viewfinder, from what I read I assumed the later models had arrow shaped lights in the viewfinder? the lights on the top of the camera are directional though.

well some photos of it here
