OT: New review of Panasonic LX1 on DC Resource Page

It received an 'almost good' review on dpreview:

To release a camera so obviously aimed at the serious photographer, to add so many usable manual controls, to put a razor-sharp Leica lens on the front and then to drop in a chip / processor that is so noisy you can't use it above ISO 100 is quite simply unforgivable. It's like buying a Ferrari and discovering it maxes out at 55 mph.

The reviewer really liked the camera except for what he considers the serious noise issue.

Among the sample pictures on this site, there is one of the interior of a large church takne at ISO 400. The noise is indeed unacceptable. However, I downloaded this file and ran it through Noise Ninja, with full auto profile, and it improved *enormously*. If you are prepared to go to this trouble, the camera might be worth considering. I'm thinking about it, anyway ... thinking ... thinking ...

Since I got my film scanner, I've lost the urge to buy a digital camera. The urge to buy a Ricoh GR1 has doubled, however....
