Well...
I guess if you're marketed as a luxury item I guess you can expect your stores to become targeted by thieves of luxury items....

Red Dot Cameras got hit the evening of the 24th and were closed on the 25th - apparently, based on the list provided, the thieves got away with a bunch of nice lenses !!
Cheers,
Dave

That's only, what, a couple camera bodies and a few lenses?

The list is mostly lenses - only a couple digital bodies... no m-mount bodies.
There are 2 f0.95 Noctiluxes (Noctili ?) stolen.

Poor guys, I've used them before and they were very friendly and helpful. Bought a IIIf for a pretty good price, sent it back because of light leaks and they replaced the shutter curtains & CLA free of charge.
Also, as I remember, they had great security. You had to buzz to be let into the shop in the first place!

Gotta feel sorry for them - it's not that long ago that they had a 'prospective buyer' walk off with an M-E and 50mm Summicron.

Hopefully they had their stock insured against theft --- it would at least help against this kind of outrageous thievery.

That's just terrible. For any shop to suffer theft is bad, even worse when it's one of the good guys.

Yeah, this is a small family business we're talking about (it's a tiny shop), not a big chain or superstore.

It's sad people resort to stealing. You would think the store would have a big safe like a jewelry store to put the lenses up at night.

By London burglary standards, this is pretty small beer. If anything, I'm surprised the take was so small. Still, here's hoping Red Dot's insurance was up to date.

Most interesting is who will buy them? Stolen stuff is sold for a fraction of price. Can't imagine someone poor finally buying it, yay, finally I have my dream lens! Or someone rich enough replaying, well, I just don't buy anything sub-$1000!
Even if they sell for 40% off regular price this is still expensive for poors and not a reason for rich. For personal use? Also very doubtful.

Red Dot are my main Leica dealers - they are the nicest people, really helpful and friendly, and this will hurt them, if not directly financially, it will certainly hurt them personally.
They had to improve security only recently due to a guy walking out with a camera, they certainly don't deserve this.
I hope their stock is returned and the thieves prosecuted.

This looks to be stolen to order, perhaps by the same thief who took the M9/Summicron. Red Dot are nice people providing a good service - here's hoping they recover from this.
