My new Fuji X10 came last night. I've skimmed the instructions but the menus appear to be fairly understandable. I charged the batteries overnight and I've been playing with images this morning. I've shot in both JPEG and RAW and in RAW + JPEG. My normal procedure is to shoot in RAW only and process the RAW with whatever software came with the camera. Unfortunately, when I process the RAW from this camera with the supplied Silkyprint RAW file converter and save an 8-bit TIFF, the saved TIFF is always less than a 1 KB file. RAW files are over 18 MB, JPEGs are over 4 MB.

I have Silkyprint Developer Studio 3.0 SE that came with my Panasonic G1 camera but it does not work with the Fuji. I've compared the settings I use with that program with the Fuji RAW converter and they are set the same. I should be getting a fairly large TIFF file but it ain't happening.

Anyone got any ideas? Am I doing something wrong? Or is the RAW converter useless (which, in turn, makes the camera useless to me)?

A follow up since the original question.

Despite trying to like this camera, I've come to the conclusion that the X10 is simply not for me. I've never returned a camera unless it was defective but this one is going back. While it has some great performance points, the ergonomics work against me at every turn. Even if the RAW conversion problem gets worked out, life is too short for such frustrations. I wanted to like it but quickly learned to hate it.
