Packing is so stressful

Off to Melbourne tomorrow by motorbike, and can't choose a camera. It'll be an SLR (both my rangefinders are loaded with film I don't want to use this time around) so the choices are:

OM2 + 50mm f/1.4
OM2n + 28mm f/2.8
Bronica ETRS + 50mm f/2.8 + grip + prism

On the one hand, I love the Bronica. On the other hand, I love the Olympuses too. Decisions are hard!

By the way, not actually asking for advice, just venting. But feel free to throw in opinions of stuff, I love random conversation! :D
 
How the heck do you take an ETRS plus grip and prism along on a bike? That is without all kind of stuff rattling loose?

Given that you're weighing towards 50mm on 645, I'd say take an OM plus 28 along..
 
For me it would have to be the OM2 and 50mm f1.4 ... but I'd be throwing in the 28mm lens as well ... but only one body.

And a spare battery! :D
 
It's not so bad, Peter... I probably won't take the grip along. I haven't had any problems with stuff rattling loose, even though my bike is a big single. I check everything carefully on cameras after long rides, and nothing's so much as shifted yet!

Wish I had a waist-level though. The prism is heavy.

That is all I can say. (and exactly what was said to me when I was dithering on my way to Mexico).
 
Take it all. I use to haul a 4x5 all over the US on my bike (dark slides, tripod, the whole bit). Cut down on the personal items (like clothes). Are you tenting it or staying in motels? Sounds like fun. BTW I never had any issues with any camera rattling use on my motorcycles. The ones in the panniers were wrapped in clothes. I always carried a RF in my tank bag, on top of some bubble wrap.
 
You know you can rewind the films of your rangefinders, put the frame number on the leader, put them aside for later re-loading and then load them with the film you want...

I do it all the time...Even with my T3.
 
Bring both, if nothing, the Bronica will make your ride more stable because of its weight :)

I miss riding motorbikes.

I'd just packed the Bronica, nice and snug, wrapped in a towel, when my girlfriend handed me a bag of gifts for some friends of ours. Oops!

So size wins after all... this time!

And on that note, I'm off.
 
Hey, I finally got tired of the packing logistics of a motorcycle and bought a sidecar. All problems solved. Not only can I carry a suitcase of clothes, my tent, my sleeping bag and utensils, but I can carry a big cooler, a lawn chair and a ton cameras!

Oh, less I forget, my wife fits in there also.

Must be a well balanced engine then. Mine's a two cylinder 450cc inline, but it still makes my teeth rattle, especially at lower revs.

Long time ago, I had an SQ-B, and even though I never took it along on the bike, it still had some parts falling off every now and then.

It's a 650 single, and surprisingly smooth for such a thumpy engine. There's still some vibes but the careful packing thing seems to work!

The trip was harder going than expected, I had very strong crosswinds over and back. But I think I got some good shots of the concert I went to, and a few other bits and pieces. Film will be done tomorrow.
