Painting the lens release button myself?

Hi!

I finally received a black Leica M6 again after getting my black-dotted one stolen in Ulan Bator earlier this year.

Now the red paint inside the lens release button has gotten off, so I wanted to ask if someone ever did paint it again himself, and if so, how to do it the best way? I thought about nail polish, but am not sure...

I want to know too. My four used M's are just fine but the one I bought new, a M6 .85 non ttl, (Thanks Dad) had the red paint chip off within a few rolls. And then there's the rangefinder patch full of flare. Back to my old M3. Joe
