Nothing is what I want
I noticed in today's ads that Circuit City is selling the Panasonic Lumix (6 mega pixels, Leica lens) for $180. I am thinking of this as a Christmas present for my wife. Does anyone have any experience with this camera? If so, what are your thoughts and feelings about this camera? Thanks for your help.

Hi John. Which Lumix camera is it, exactly?

Find out the model number of the camera and plug it into this search http://www.flickr.com/cameras/panasonic/dmc-lx2/ replacing the "dmc-lx2" with the number of the camera you're interested in. That will give you some idea of what kind of pictures people are taking with it. Lumix is just a general name Panasonic gives to many different cameras.

The Lumix DMC-FX01 is a terrific little camera.

my gf has a lumix fx9, I wish my canon 20D took photos that had that kind of color...

I'd love a DMC-LZ2 or 3. Peter has one and it is fabulous!

glad to hear you're liking the FZ20, joe.. but I have to admit I'm missing it more and more!
the Lumix's are excellent cameras.. a stunning Leica lens, usually coupled with Anti-Shake technology that gives great photos
the model on sale is DMC-FX3K.. a nice little P&S.. no manual controls, but otherwise a good performer in a compact design
the one thing to be aware of with most Lumix cameras is noisy images in low-light situations.. usually not a problem, tho

I have the fz20 and will upgrade one day to the 50. I love the camera. The only faults I have with it are not being able too change exposure easlly while looking through viewfinder. The lenses I believe are awesome and I would rather have this baby than a dslr.

Not that noisy.
Shot at ISO 80, 1s (handheld ... gotta love the anti-shake), DMC-LZ2.

i've read that the 20 is better because they have stuffed too many pixels in the same sized sensor with the 50.
no idea if that's true.
