In case anyone is interested, the Panorama Factory stitching software has just been upgraded.
The new version seems faster and does a better job of stitching without the ghosting that sometimes happened with the earlier versions.
The two big features are the ability to stitch and export 16 bit per channel images (including layered Photoshop files) and support for the Mac.
I use it when stitching images made with my 12mm Heliar (used vertically) that yields a 360 degree interactive display. I also use it with my Noblex (sometimes even handheld) when I want to make a wider than 120 degree image.
I can't compare to other programs since I haven't tried any in the past few years, so I don't know whether it is the best choice for others.
I'm just a user and have no connection with the seller.
There are some sample images on their web site, including some multi-level stitching (which I've never tried). Even if you aren't in the market you might enjoy looking at what some others have produced.

I use PTgui. Amazing, automatic, easy to use. Haven't tried Panorama Factory.
