For any of you who are going to be in the vicinity of Paris, we saw three exhibitions in one day,in fact yesterday.
the first was William Klein at the national Centre for photography in rue de Fourcy. He really caught the spirit of Rome in particular, and he writes beautifully. Diane Arbus in the afternoon, a large retrospective, at the jeu de Paume. Again, beautifully researched.

The last was at Renoma gallery and cafe 32Ave Georges v in the 8th.
Tres tres cool. Had the best main course since I have been in this town as a tourist To see the Klein and then the Arbus was informative inso far as he seemed to be as buoyant as Arbus was serious.

Go if you are in town.

I've been wanting to go to the Arbus one, there was a nice little TV "column" about it. Thanks for pointing out the Klein -> Arbus sequence. I'm not sure Arbus was "serious" in the "serious" sense...but then again, I'm not exactly versed in her body of work.

That'll be way better. That basement was too hot and smoky. Plus you get all that natural light at the Grand Palais.
