Part for my Focomat Ic help needed

Any idea where I can find this piece for a Focomat Ic. It's the locking bracket that attaches to the focusing helix. It prevents the focus from drifting. I found one on ebay but it's with the entire assembly and I only need the attached piece.

I lost the little spring that goes inside...it just bounced away and was never seen again when I decided to manually focus everything..and removed it..

Have you tried Kienzle in Germany? They manufacture many parts for the 1C.

My first Focomat Ic came without the little tabs.

I fixed the helix in position with a with hose clamp. The hose clamp overlapped both the knurled section of the helix and the black painted section of the enlarger - I shimmed the black enlarger section out with a bit of cardboard to bring it to the same diameter as the knurl.

This was simple and effective . The hose clamp held my autofocus in calibration for the 11 years until a ran across a pair of the original tabs.

I sent a message to Kienzle earlier and one of the sellers on eBay. Haven't heard back from Kienzle due to time difference and hadn't thought of Glenview. Glenview would probably want more than I paid for the enlarger.

I too thought about a hose clamp and shims. One of my clients manufactures hose lamps so I probably have some around the studio. I also thought of an industrial tiewrap. I gave a package away that would have been perfect.

If I don't find one I'll try one of the other solutions. I also thought of a wide rubber band. Thanks for your suggestions.

Shortly I'll be sharing how I adapted an Omega C700 color head to my Ic for just a few dollars. I'm using it to dial in filtration for variable contrast B&W paper. I'll post pictures in a day or so showing how I made the adapter out of black foamcore and using foam weather stripping and double face tape. It took all of thirty minutes and the illumination is within .1 stop from each corner to center. It's much more even than with a 211 bulb.

Your colour head modification sounds great ! And it may work very well for you.

However, once you are printing you should compare with the original Leitz enlarger head. I am quite sure the whole light system contributes to the character of prints made with the 1c and the Valoy II.

Leitz USA (or Canada) made a beautiful under-the-lens filter holder, but it is hard to find. I attach a picture of this holder.
I have modified Beseler 23 filter holders for this purpose, takes 15 minutes. See picture . . .

I use the 1c with the filter tray and I use the older 1c with this filter holder under the lens. Providing your filters are clean and undamaged, there's no difference.

The adaptation I made retains the condensor as it is with an opal bulb. In simply using the chromega head as a diffused light source. I can't tell any difference in the prints with the 211 bulb and the chromega head. It's just nicer to dial in filtration.
