PAW site? (again...)

Guys, I know that this question has previously been asked, but I could not find a definite answer in that thread, so here it comes again...

Does anyone know a good, inexpensive (or better: free) site where to put up a PAW gallery with minimal work? I'm really thinking about doing PAW this year, but I don't know anything about designing and editing web pages - I would need something where you just upload the photo with some info, and bazoom, it's there on the web, with thumbnails and all...
And I don't wanna do it here in the RFF gallery, since I also want to post the occasional SLR or TLR pic.
Oh, and of course it would be great if all of that was available for free (or at a low price) - since I'd rather spend my money on way more cameras (hey wait, my new year's resolution was not to do that, but save up for a screw mount Summicron or Canon 50/1.8 or the likes...))

Thanks for any pointers and tips!

Roman, pbase.com charges $20 for a whole year of hosting, that includes 200 Mb of quota for your photos and all their front-end interface which makes things pretty straightforward (you can choose between the available skins, thumbs are automatic, etc etc).

Give it a try, you can get a free 1 month account and see if you like it. It's a reasonable price having in mind what you get for that money.

However take note that these days their servers are a bit on their limit as there are a lot of queries for photos of the Tsunami disaster...

Of course you can also promise to do a 100% RF PAW and upload it here ;)

Roman,
you coud start a photoblog (check mine out, address is below my signature) or several members here use "Fotoweek" which is a PAW site: http://fotoweek.com/gallery/

I used to post at Fotoweek but it seems thay reformatted several times recently so I just registered again.

Todd, I get an 'Invalid page or template' messag when I try to look at your blog!?

Roman

I could enter the site but the link to your Photoblog doesn't work.
It's an Interesting place but here everybody talks about "those old strange cameras, they tell... rangefinders..."
I do also want to make a PAW this year I hope w aren't late, the year has just started.

I just signed up for Fotoweek - I will have to wait until the film I have got in the development tank at the moment is dry enough for scanning before my first PAW, though...

Pbase also sounded quite OK, but specifically for the PAW Fotoweek seems to be easier to use.

Fotoweek is a pretty cool site, you can upload your pics and then just direct others to your PAW, the price is right too!

Yup Roman, I'm subsribed to the paw mailing list and read about the fotoweek site, however if I were an active participant on all the mailing lists I'm subscribed then I should give up my studies and job :D

The fotoweek option also was not set up when I subscribed to pbase, and also I have non-paw related work there as well...

Let us know when your first paw shot is uploaded and we'll do a virtual brindis for you ! :) But better leave your negs to dry properly though ! ;)

I checked various alternatives, and pbase is worth $20. However, I went with fotoweek for my PAW and just uploaded the first one, mainly to beat the january 7 deadline, artifical, I know.

OK, just posted my first one on Fotoweek - not great, but I did not get anything better last week...
