I'd like to partially disassemble the lens assembly on my Flexaret VII TLR to do some cleaning, but can find no guidance on the Internet for pulling its taking lens assembly apart. The immediate problem is that I cannot turn the shutter speed dial to any slower setting than 1/4 second. I have no way of knowing, but I suspect (hope?) this comes down to a gummed up shutter speed dial.
I've unscrewed the front lens element from the optical block, and carefully applied a drop or three of lighter fluid to the area, but this did not result in the shutter speed dial rotating any further than it had already. Consequently, I want to break this shutter down further, but can see no obvious way to do so. Perhaps it will be clearer when I can remove the locking ring from the rear of the assembly, but do not yet have a spanner up to the job.
There's some good resources online for the shutter from the previous model, the Flexaret VI, but it's a very different shutter in the VII. If you have any pictures of the disassembly of the Pentacon-Prestor shutter, or links to discussions on their repair, please share! Thank you.
