Howdy again folks. I am in a possible position to pick up one of these lenses at a good price, a really good price...im wondering if this is a good lens to pick up or not. Im not so interested in the whole external veiwfinder idea but if the price is right...

any comments, personal experience, myths, mantras, and fairy tales are welcome.

In its K-mount form, the 43 Limited has a great reputation. I believe it's one of the first Limited lens produced by Pentax, and it started out as a personal project, a real labor of love. I heard that the LTM version is actually quite rare. I'd love to get a hold of one if I can afford it.

I don't personally have one, but from the sample pictures I've seen, it yields wonderful results. Some people complain that it might be soft wide open, but other argue that it's softness makes it a good environmental portrait lens .

Optically, it's clearly (no pun intended) an excellent lens & it is also very well-made. The accessory finder is 1 of the nicest I've seen. Both the lens & finder, however, are on the big side, especially if you intend to mount the lens on a little "Barnack" thread-mount Leica or copy. It's fine on an M Leica or 1 of the later Canon RFs (P, 7, etc.). FYI, like the Konica 50/2 Hexanon-M (came w/Hexar RF) & the Minolta 40/2 M-Rokkor, it takes 40.5mm filters & accessories, & that may or may not be a good thing depending on whether you have other lenses w/the same size filter ring (I have many). Like all of my 40-45mm Leica-mount lenses, I like to use mine on my digital bodies & so most of my shots so far have been digital:
