Hi,
My Pentax ME Super has developed a 'sleepy head'. After being out of use for several minutes (In my case is more or less 4 minutes) and then cocked the shutter won't fire, has to be re-cocked once or twice and then all is fine, until the next idle period.
Example: I advance one frame (cocked) and fire, I can do that over an over ... but if I not use the camera after the 3 or 4 minutes... I advance one frame but the shutter won't fire !! I have to advance one frame again to fire!
Any easy way to fix this ?
Thanks

Check batteries first.
Use new ones and see contacts are clean.
If problem persists, suggest service..
AS these SLR bodies are so inexpensive these days.
perhaps get another, with warranty.

This is a common ME problem. I have two of them that developed the same issue. It has something to do with dried out rubbers in the mechanics. I once found a link to a website which explains how to replace them but I seem to have lost it.

Hi,
First of all thanks for your reply.
Please, if you find the link ... post here. For the price, sending this camera for repairing is not a very good option ://

this blog explains in detail the procedure of disassembling and fixing ME (supers).
