The film counter on my MX won't reset. Any quick fixes for this?

It maybe a bit of dirt in the reset lever.
Open your camera and press on the reset button several times with a jeweler's screw driver
while holding the camera with the film chamber looking " down"
It may also be a spring in the counter that has gotten weak, that is an easy fix too but requires a bit more effort

the reset is in the groove for the door, just below the advance lever.

It is quite common that light seal gunk will fall in this area; also if you refeshed the light seals you may have overlooked these spot (it happens to all of us once)
I have marked the location with the toothpicks, and also look in the film gate for a notch (circled) that will help you find the lever.
Use a toothpick or a small screwdriver to push on it a few time and see if the counter resets.
