I wonder, is there an AZ RF group?

I think the group is Southwest, or something like that. Perhaps the large area is why nothing ever happens.
I'm in Glendale and working in Scottsdale, by the way.

Any interest in starting the Arizona RF Group?
What kind of cool stuff do other groups do?

Ok, so if we DID decide to start the AZ group, what could we put on the agenda? I will start:
Places to meet (for drinks and chat):
** Lone Star stakehouse off I-17 just south of Peoria
** La Casa Vieja (sp?) in Tempe on Mill Ave by the lake
** Any Downtown Glendale restourants, by the City Hall/Library area
**
Places to meet (for exposing some film or pixels):
** Downtown Phoenix on a weekend
** Tempe Lake area
** Dowtown Flagstaff
** Bisbee?
** Tucson (where?)
** Prescott
** Sedona / Oak Creek Canyon (added)

Andy,
I would be up for a meet of the group with some food and drinks. Why don't we try organizing that first, and actually talk with everyone about what their shooting interests are and where they shoot.
I'm new to AZ so open to trying shooting almost anywhere. No spots are old for me yet.
My preference would be the Mill Ave spots. The scenery is not bad there either.
Best,
Ray
P.S.: I know that we are missing at least one or two other guys. A poster by the name of Steve that has been posting here and on the Leica forum with his M7 and Nocti. The other is a poster that uses a guy in front of a motorcycle for his avatar (I don't remember the name.) who I believe is from around the Tucson area.

Ray, this sounds like a plan. Should we pick a reasonable date and see if it works for everyone? How about a Saturday or Sunday in mid-November? Btw, I agree on the scenery by the lake

I live in Queen Creek and would like to get together with you folks. I am new to Rangefinders but have been shooting for about 23 years.
Sedona and Oak Creek canyon are both nice spots. For those who want to drive a bit, Zion Nat. Park just over the border of Utah is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.

Mark, great idea with Sedona and environs.
So.... should we start setting a date before this thread peters out ?-)
