it's official!
i am now part of the 'hoity toity' upper there camera class!
yepper, got me one of them there billingham camera bags and it sure is purty.
ok, bad i know.
but i did get a very nice slightly used billingham s3 bag today.
except for a bit of dirt (from use) it looks new. no real wear to speak of, at all.
it is exactly what i have been looking for. it fits a canon rf body with lens attached and an extra lens (or 2 if i want), film, meter etc. a great bag for a daily stroll when i don't want to take it all with me.
i have the domke for that.
and the best part is my bessa outfit can now live permanently in the small tamrac bag that fits it so perfectly.
the tamrac is a bit lighter and so matches the bessa.
the billingham is very tough and the canon is quite safe in it.
as far as bags go - i am complete...

Joe - I don't believe you when you say you are complete (as far as bags go!!)
I thought I was complete with my Lowepro 400AW, Mini trekker, 75 toploader, S&F belt pack.
Nope - I now need something for my rangefinder kit.
I reckon it will be around 6 months before you are looking for another

Very nice Joe!
I used to have a similar bag, I felt it attracted too much attention. I would hate for you to loose those beautiful Canons to a would be thief, I suggest you sell the bag (I'll give you .25 cents if you'll pay for shipping) and go incognito like me. Here is a pic of my current camera bag made by a local craftsman.
I like the fact that all of my RF gear fits in it along with several hundred rolls of film and a pair of jockey shorts.

And here is another shot of my camera bag in use. Notice the easy access opening for those fleeting shots. When I'm out street shooting, roaming the area for opportunities, I love the swishy sound it makes along with the chunkity-clank, chunkity-clank of the cameras nestled closely together.

Very nice Billingham you got there Joe! Todd, very impressive design you have there, is there any foam inserts for your bag to protect the finishes of the cameras? I totally agree with Joe when one is doing street shoot alone. Always talk softly and carry a big knife (or whatever choice of weapons one desires).

Never hurts to be prepared.....
oh yea, I bring my QL17 GIII in case the first two fail. Swinging it around by its neck strap at full speed works almost as well LOL
(actually, I rarely carry anything when I'm shooting in the city unless I'll be there very late.)

Joe,
It has that "Row-day-O" Drive look, the kind that says, "Ain't I pretty. Please steal me".
I hope that knife is a Gerber BMF

Very nice and compact choice! Hardly bigger than a PPK but isn't +P+ ammunition too hot for such a small package?
No wonder I felt safe walking around Mystic Seaport with Stephen.
He of course was trying to protect himself from me. You never know what kinda freaks you meet on the internet.

Hehehe...
Great looking stuff Joe, now that I see the Canonator with a lens and a proper hood near the P, I confess I feel some sort of admiration for it's not that elegant appearance, has some kind of diesel-like think to it...
Good looking bag Todd ! Could you give me the address of the craftsman who made it for you ? It's pretty clear this kind of artisan's work can't be easily found nowadays and probably he only makes one or at most two bags a year...

Peter, I searched just as hard to find the Duo-Tone P229 as I did to find a black QL17 GIII. There is definitely a
link between the mechanical marvels of all shooting instruments! I'll sell all the others, but the P229 will probably only be sold at my estate sale!
Rover, the thing you didn't realize when we met in the McDonalds was that I had the P229 under the table with
my finger on the trigger just in case. I did however relax that stance once I was back in the car and on my
way home. But then, I'm not really sure if it was because of you, or HuckFin!!
