Peter Sekaer was a colleague and friend of Walker Evans who died young in 1950, thus his work is not well known. The High Museum (Atlanta) is currently exhibiting a retrospective of Sekaer's work and published a fine catalog, "Signs of Life."
Many of Sekaer's prints are being exhibited at the Howard Greenberg Gallery in the Fuller Building on 57th Street, NYC until 23 October. The prints are beautiful and the work is a revelation.
