Are there any photo related events/galleries in Toronto now, that a visitor should consider?

Of course the Contact photography festival runs for the entire month of May all over the city, but that doesn't do you much good.

Look for "Now"- a free weekly newspaper - and then look at the "Gallery Listings" section. Good places to start include Stephen Bulger Gallery on Queen Street West and Gallery 44 at 401 Richmond Street West.

There are plenty of smaller galleries around town.
You can try the Stephen Bulger Gallery. (there is no mention of the upcoming show)
http://www.bulgergallery.com/
As well, some of the co-op galleries usually have a member's print sale during early Dec.
Other galleries in town:
Gallery 44 - http://www.gallery44.org/
Toronto Image Works - http://www.torontoimageworks.com/gallery.html
Gallery TPW - http://www.gallerytpw.ca/
Here's a few to get you started. As well, don't forget to visit the camera stores downtown ;-)

1332 Queen West, a little west of Dufferin
Opening Dec 4 is PhotoLab, photography by anyone, for everyone. Over
50 artists (local and international) and 150 pieces will be in the
exhibition. The digital camera revolution has democratized
photography, and with PhotoLab, we're democratizing photography
exhibition.
Cheers,
Dave
