How many RFFers also do video, in addition to still photography? I am curious, as I just got a job doing video a few months back. I find that video uses many of the same skills--in both shooting and editing--to tell a story visually. While video is relatively new to me, and I am far more comfortable with (and stimulated by) still photography, I find that video isn't a polar opposite from photography.

However, many of these forums (RFF included, and though the title of the site would seem to make it hard to include video, this forum goes far beyond rangefinders and does deal with many cameras that take video, and do so quite well) deal with one or the other, as if there was a large chasm to overcome between the two.

So how many of you do video? Does video work in concert with still photography, or do you generally realize projects in one or the other medium from start to finish? How can they enhance each other and work together to tell a better story--or can't they?

Just curious...feel free to take the thread in any direction. I'm just getting us started.

I do also video, yes, but only for personal documentation. I hate the complex audio/video postprocessing to do it properly and that's why I publish video only for short features, alongside still images, without any remarkable artwork postprocessing.

as far as paying work video seems to be the way of the future, it's quite easy to find news agencies etc. willing to pay for video footage but not many people seem to want to pay for still photos these days.

i do both.
