Just FYI - this is in no way an invitation to attack, defend, or otherwise get all out-of-control with angry words about Mr. Shell, pro or con. FYI because it is news, it is timely, it is about photography, and even because Mr. Shell has been a contributor to the camera (and even rangefinder) communities. A prolific writer on photographer, editor of several photography magazines, well-known in the photographic community, and a lightning-rod for criticism pro and con, he has been confined to his home since his arrest some time ago, and has virtually stopped being talked about.

Joe - if you feel this is inappropriate, please feel free to remove it - no harm no foul.

Photographer's trial scheduled to start Oct. 24

The long-awaited trial of Bob Shell, the Radford photographer charged in the 2003 death of Advertisement

his studio manager and model was set for Oct. 24 in Radford Circuit Court on Tuesday.

Shell, 58, is charged with felony homicide, four counts of defiling a corpse, three drug charges and three sex charges in the death of 19-year-old Marion Elizabeth Franklin of Boone, N.C. Franklin died in Shell's Radford photo studio from a lethal dose of morphine. Shell is charged with supplying her with the drugs that killed her.
