Very pleased to report that the Hong Kong Photo Club held its first meeting this evening, 21 June, and the gear was in abundance!

While Bessas owned by Colin Lam (2REP), Calvin Hung (Calvin), Ainslie Cheung (dryice66) and yours truly (Mr Ho) ruled by sheer number and variety, there were some other surprises:

- Louis Tan (louiskht) delighted the group by pulling four pristine condition small format cameras (Minox GT, Rollei Classic and 2 Ricohs) out of a bag.

- Dingo Lee (dingo) wowed us all with his custom red metallic paint job Kiev 4A and an assortment of classic Russian lenses.

- Ainslie whipped out a lovely Leica III.

As expected, we had lots of good chat about rangefinders, film, processing, subject matter, etc. and have planned an outing in July to shoot old buildings in historic Yuen Long in the New Territories.

Stay tuned for photos from that outing!

have a curious question
do you guys chat in canto or english?
heheh

There was a bit of Cantonese going on, but mostly English. That's because in spite of being called Mr. Ho, I'm the only foreigner in the group! See attached photo!

You're very welcome, Colin! It was good to meet you and everybody else. I'm looking forward to Dingo's planned adventure next month.

Yes, I promise the adventure would be gorgeous. Ancient Chinese buildings, old stores, sunsets and great food...

BTW, this is where we met last night :

Hong Kong RFF Success

Hong Kong RFF Success

Great job for pulling us all together - a bunch of busy, disparate reprobates held together only by their interest in rf photography. Look forward to seeing you all again on July 21.... should be a lotta laughs. :) .... Here's a small selection of my shots from the interloping fujipix f40fd!

Thanks Mark - for the kind words - I did bring the Bessa along and you got an honorary mention in despatches!

BTW, the Kiev IV was far from ugly.... it was a great piece of work and I wanted to do a paint job on all my cameras!

For those local guys who didn't come to this gathering. Don't be jealous but just go straight to our next gathering - Photoshooting (plus eating, of course) in Yuen Long.
