Hi All,
I have seen lots of fantastic photos of c-mount (cine) lens on Flickr.
These prized vintage lens or inexpensive cctv lens produces unique photo quality with dof/bokeh pretty close to film quality.
I must say that some would love it and some would hate it.
Some thinks the bokehs are weird and crazy while others love the painterly and unpredictable feel.
I will try to list some great flickr's post here....But before that, a informative table i found from http://www.flickr.com/photos/nacoki/4016574197/
http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?k...QQ-HJwvNDobeEw
Naocoki uses the Wollensak Cine Raptar 1 inch f1.5 at http://www.flickr.com/photos/48102386@N00/
(read the comments written, some say SOM-Bel and Angenieux is reccomended)
Ramjee uses the Wollensak Cine Raptar 1inch/1.9 at

Astroman uses the Elgeet 2 Inch f/1.5 Cine Navitar at
http://www.flickr.com/photos/astroman-photo/3723284465/
(btw, see all the c-mount lens and photos Astroman has, this man is really crazy! )
A shot from a cheap cheap $30 Computar CCTV lens
One video before i sign off (the lens is only $20 )...enjoy!

Anyway, hope this thread will be a friendly one and look forward to owner's of C-Mount lens sharing their artworks here.
Cheers,
Ed Forrest

I wouldn't want to guess either..hahaha.
You are very funny.
Could you tell us which M43 camera you used?

Hey guys, sorry to hijack but i can't find threads dedicated to c mounts here. I want to know what adapters you guys use. If you can take a pic of it it'd be great. I am using the pixco adapter, made in china. From the look of it it looks exactly like the roxsen on ebay. I recently got a super comat 25 1.9 and had trouble focusing infinity. Max range is 5 meters, that's it. The lens base is way less than 37.2mm.
Anyone got lens working without modification? What adapter are you using?

Hi,
I use RJ Camera adaptor without problem.
Infact it can focus beyond infinity (if it makes sense to you :bang: )
At times, i screw the lens further out from the adaptor to get a "Extension Tube macro" effect
Love it!
Cheers,
Ed

Hi Ed, thank you for the thread. I am actually considering getting the GH1 and selling the kit lens and using these types of lenses. Any comments whether I should NOT do that?
Also, where can I fine these cine lenses and their adapters?
Thank you again.

Hi Bwidjaja,
You are most welcome.
I will not sell your kit lens if i were you unless you really need the cash... for reasons that your kit lens has autofocus.
You might need it for other kinds of photography that need the speed and accuracy in focusing.
I kept my GF1's pancake lens so that i can catch my running kids without undue stress.
As for finding these cine lenses...i suggest that the procedures should be that you start by reading my first post.
Then search Flickr to see the characteristic of these c-mount lenses (use keyword search on flickr)
Once you narrowed down which len/lenses you like, simply go to eBay and buy from 100% rating sellers if possible.
If you are not comfortable to commit much yet, do try out the inexpensive $20 CCTV lenses such as the Computar TV 25mm f1.8 lens (see photo examples above)
DO NOT GET lenses that are less than 1inch diameter..i heard you wil get serious vignetting.
Hope this helps

Lucky I am in Hong Kong where it's easy to get stuff.

eooojj, thanks for the reply. I will stop posting to this thread now because it's not about adapter. But want to caution other people who's about to buy the wrong adapter. Not everyone lives in HK like me where things are within walking distance.
The one I got is pixco, it doesn't focus infinity:
http://cgi.ebay.com.hk/ws/eBayISAPI...ccessories&hash=item3ca8f39186#ht_6623wt_1166
The one recommended is RJ, but has 2 versions, I don't know which one works:
Silver rim (old, supposedly works, I don't have one, is this the one you have eooojj??):
http://www.chiifcameras.com/site2/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=87&Itemid=85
Black rim (new, which looks so much like the pixco I stay away from):

Hawk Factory (does it work?) (I also see another brand called Coyo looks just like this):

Newbie
i got the new RJ adaptor that is all black. i can not get the cosmicar 16mm f1.4 or a 8.5mm f1.5 lens to focus to infinity using this adapter. but - from some of the photos ive seen it looks like others have used this adapter with some success. i just ordered an other adapter from Cam_century on ebay - this one has "C - 4/3 (G1)" on its side.

Sneaks it in.

I just ordered a silver rim RJ from chiif through flickr:
http://www.chiifcameras.com/site2/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=87&Itemid=85
fingers crossed.
And in order to make my post relevant here are 2 shots I did with the Super Comat 25mm 1.9 on the pixco adapter.

I don't even have my m4/3 body yet (waiting to see what unfolds in the next month), but I won a Super Comat 25mm f/.9 on Ebay last night. It's in pretty good shape, and I got it under $100. Seems like a nice deal with the way m4/3 has caused c-mount prices to rise!
