Is the 21mm/f2.8 as large as it looks?
@back alley
Cool photos, never really liked the look of the camera until now. What's the compass look-a-like on top of the camera?

I don't have a payday, but film is what I treat myself to. It is the best money I have ever spent.

I think something is wrong when people put up pics of cameras that are not special antiques or to demonstrate a particular unique point of interest.

Huh!
I thought it was just to do with the joy of owning a particular camera or lens and wanting to shout about it from the hilltops so to speak!
Sometimes I look at my sad neglected M8 sitting in the cupboard and think to myself it may as well be a sad negleted RD-1 ... I like the look of them!

Hmm, for someone like me who cannot afford special antiques, any camera of mine is a point of interest

Being a new owner of a RD-1, itis interresting to see all these pictures with a lot of accesories. Specialy when they are well made.
I have a question for Zen-shooter, is it a home made handle ?

I'm often tempted by an RD-1, but more along the lines of testing lenses after shimming them. I just don't have to use digital on my time. And for work, it's more technical so macro lenses are a must. A Nikon D1x or E3 is fine in terms of resolution.
But I love that film advance lever on the RD-1! Leica should have followed suit for the M8.
And some of Joe's prior camera pictures have swayed me...

I think there is something wrong when people go out of their way to rain on others parades.
If you don't like it, you don't have to click on the thread and read it.
Bring on more r-d1s. Sometimes I wish the R-d1 was made by leica... It's a beautiful little camera to shoot with.
