I’ve picked up a couple of older m4/3 cameras recently, an Olympus E-M1x and a Panasonic GH5s, the video centric low megapixel camera. Price for both was lower than buying a new single body.
The M1x has been great for birding from a kayak, the keeper rate on birds in flight is very high as long as I keep the birds in the frame. Yes, it’s heavy for an m4/3 but the big grip is helpful with long lenses.
I haven’t had many chances yet to experiment with the low-light capabilities or video quality of the GH5s. One thing surprised me though, the EVF seems different somehow, can’t quite put my finger on it but unlike the GH4, and G9. I do like that it has many of the same video tools that are on the newer Gh6 & 7.
Any current or former 5s users still here?
